Helsinki 24h - Hernesaaren taideaita

2018 - Vuosikirjatyö
Kuva

Illustrated journey through a day in Helsinki The Hernesaari Art Wall consists of 24 illustrations that present Helsinki from morning to night. Each of the images represents one hour in a 24-hour period, which leads the observer through the streets and suburbs of the city. The kilometre-long mural artwork depicts scenes from everyday life; because everyday life is a window into local life and culture. Alongside the hourly-inspired imagery is a series of Helsinki-themed patterns, opening out at the north end of the wall to a nature trail celebrating urban nature. Over 700-meter-long wall is separating the lively Hernesaari area from the construction site of the growing district. The wall will stay as a landmark of Helsinki for the duration of the construction, approximately ten years.
